We will continue in a private van to O Cebreiro, making an introduction to the road, visiting Astorga, and holding a commemorative event at Cruz de Ferro, an enigmatic site. We will travel to Ponferrada and see its Templar castle, and then head to the heart of the path, to O Cebreiro, where we will have a magical end to the day, in a small pre-Romanesque high mountain town.

DAY 3

Today we begin the pilgrimage, but before departure we will visit the monument of Saint Roch and the monastery of Samos. We will leave in the Van to our starting point of the Camino,

“The centenary chestnut tree” will begin our pilgrimage through a lush oak forest, among streams. Today we will sleep in Samos next to the famous Benedictine monastery.

DAY 4

From Samos we will go to Sarria where we will begin the route on foot, we will walk along beautiful paths between chestnut trees, until on the horizon we see the Portomarín dam and later its fortified church. Today we will enjoy a great atmosphere in the town where we spent the night, and we will have dinner with many pilgrims in the town square.

DAY 5

The stage is divided by the Ligonde mountain range, which in turn divides the basins of the Miño and Ulloa rivers and the municipalities of Portomarín and Monterroso. Although the beginning is promising and offers a peaceful ascent up Mount San Antonio, the rest becomes intoxicating. next to modest, provincial and even national roads. However, good examples of Romanesque churches liven up the trip, including the possibility of detouring to Vilar de Donas to visit San Salvador, old pilgrim hospitals and the valuable Lameiros cruise.

DAY 6

Today we continue along an endless number of slides, but between magical settings such as the Catasol River to Ribadiso da Baixo and Arzúa, where it in turn connects the Camino del Norte. If yesterday we arrived at the capital of octopus, today we arrived at the capital of Arzúa cheese, which we will enjoy during dinner.

DAY 7

Today we continue along an endless number of slides, but between magical settings such as the Catasol River to Ribadiso da Baixo and Arzúa, where it in turn connects the Camino del Norte. If yesterday we arrived at the capital of octopus, today we arrived at the capital of Arzúa cheese, which we will enjoy during dinner.

DAY 8

Between Arzúa and the cathedral of Santiago there are almost 40 kilometers and the most logical and prudent thing is to divide the section into two days, stopping and inn in Santa Irene or O Pedrouzo. The Municipality of Arzúa passes the baton to that of O Pino in a comfortable route, with easier slopes and on tracks always close to the N 547. Today will be a stage in which the fatigue in our legs is already noticeable, but in the mind We feel that we are close to Santiago.

DAY 9

The walk becomes serene, perhaps for fear of finishing and not knowing or not wanting what to do next. On trails of leaf litter, among the last patches of eucalyptus and oak trees, arrive the last villages of O Pino. The municipality of Santiago awaits at a halt, next to the airport, and leads the pilgrim through the parish of Sabugueira. From the watchtower of Monte do Gozo you get the first panoramic view of Santiago de Compostela and an urban tour begins that ends at the foot of the baroque façade of the cathedral. The Obradoiro is the end and the beginning.
