ITINERARY
DAY 1
Arrival in Madrid, at noon reception at the airport and transfer to the hotel, we will have the afternoon free and we will share dinner to get to know each other among all the participants.
DAY 2
Concentration in the hotel lobby after breakfast to go to the Chamartín station, we will travel by high-speed train from Madrid to León. We will continue in a private van to O Cebreiro, making an introduction to the road, visiting Astorga, and holding a commemorative event at Cruz de Ferro, an enigmatic site. We will travel to Ponferrada and see its Templar castle, and then head to the heart of the path, to O Cebreiro, where we will have a magical end to the day, in a small pre-Romanesque high mountain town.
DAY 3
After breakfast, we will head towards Burgo Ranero next to the tracks of the Camino de Santiago, in the Laguna de la Manzana, which will be where the cyclists will have their first refreshment station, we will wait for them and share it with them. Then we will march towards León where we will visit the city, contemplating its Plaza Mayor, San Isidoro de León, Gaudí's Casa Botines, and the magnificent Cathedral of Santa María de Regla.
DAY 4
It will be our last stage on the plain, before entering the mountains that will take us to Bierzo, a valley of vineyards. We will cross a Roman bridge with 20 eyes, and next to it we will have our supplies. Then the roads will be winding, with some slopes, but nothing we can't easily deal with. In the afternoon before eating we will contemplate Gaudí's episcopal palace and
other works of art in Astorga.
DAY 5
The mountain begins, after about 10 km of flat terrain to warm up, we will begin the ascent to the Cruz de Ferro mountain pass, at the top we will perform a ritual
of offering Then 14 km of fantastic descent, to reach
to Ponferrada and its Templar castle The refreshment station will be next to the Molinaseca river, and if the weather is good, we will bathe in its waters.
DAY 6
Today we will finish in a demanding mountain pass, and there the stage will end, so we can enjoy a pre-Romanesque town, or Cebreiro. The stage will pass through the valley of the Valcarce river, among vineyards, cherry trees, and we will enter Galicia. And we will have a special surprise for everyone; A day to always remember.
DAY 7
We will descend from the mountain as soon as the stage begins, and the landscape will change completely, we will contemplate the impressive monastery of Samos in the middle of a beautiful valley. We will cross Sarria, a city where pilgrims leave on foot, and we will pass through km 100; There is less left for Santiago. We will finish in Portomarín and its fortified church.
DAY 8
A stage of continuous ups and downs, all day we will go between small streams and corredoiras (paths covered by tree branches). It will be a demanding stage because we are already accumulating kilometers and days of pedaling, but we will have our reward, we will pass through Melide capital of the octopus, and we will taste this delicacy.
DAY 9
Our bicycles will fly, we know that Santiago is close. We will have a leg-breaking road of continuous ups and downs, until we reach the last stop, the Lavacolla stop, then Monte do Gozo at the gates of Santiago, where we will regroup before entering the Obradoiro square in Santiago together. DAY 10
We will have the morning to enjoy the city of Santiago and take advantage of shopping. At noon we will take the high-speed train to Madrid and we will conclude our services. We also give you the alternative of traveling to Madrid by Van Mercedes, visiting medieval towns, Puebla de Sanabria, Cuellar, having lunch in a cave/winery in Valladolid, passing through Segovia before arriving in Madrid.
